Rice puller attracts rice grains due to electrostatic attraction between the metal and rice.

Electrostatic attraction is the phenomenon where a negatively charged atom or molecule is attracted to a positively charged atom or molecule. Electrostatic repulsion occurs between two atoms of the same charge.

A copper metal or sometimes copper-Iridium metal which attracts rice grains, like a magnet attracting  iron is called as Rice Puller. The definition is quite simple but how can  copper metal attracts rice grains?.
